MPTC teams
Senior
OUR TEAMS have been playing in the Notts LTA leagues since the end of World War 2. The club's greatest achievement dates back to 1952, when our men's first team finished second in Division 1. In recent years, following much time in the lower divisions, the men's first team has maintained a position in or just below the top flight. The ladies have been lagging somewhat and we could really do with some keen female players. This summer (2008) our ladies' second team has entered the "Trial League", which has a shorter (4-set) format.
We also run men's, ladies' and mixed teams in the Notts summer and winter leagues. Two teams play in the Indoor League at Nottingham Tennis Centre from October to March.
The Racketeer has been reporting on the club's league highs and lows since 1993. A selection of these can be found in the Archive (see menu left).
Junior
The number of teams we run in any season depends on the number of players available and their ages. Our coach, Simon McBride, normally manages junior team play, also running mini tennis teams of his own for children who do not have club teams to suit them.
